Put the hive stand in the sun, where they can get sun. Make sure you "lock them in," if you move them more than 2 feet from where they are currently. Leave them locked in for 48 hours (with feed) and then place something in front of their opening, so when you do let them out, they will know they have to reorient. Otherwise they'll leave and go back to the spot where the pallets were. Good luck!

Many use DE on the ground. Some use "ant moats," to keep them out of the hives. That would be oil or water in a can around the feet of the hive stand. Some use "tanglefoot," on the hive stand legs. We use cinnamon on the inner cover of the hive, since our only issue has been ants getting into internal feeders. Do you have any idea what kind of ants they are???
